Navicula is inspired by diatoms — the microscopic water organisms that produce around half the air we breathe. It's built from strong multi-layered bamboo plywood as a skeletal skin, with the tensile form lit internally by an LED strip for a soft upward glow. It suits a dining table, lounge, foyer or reception, or stands alone as a sculptural feature. Navicula won a Gold Best award in 2016 and a Good Design award in 2017, and featured in Grand Designs New Zealand's 'Floating Beach Bach' in 2020.
